CONTROL OF SLUGS UNDER CONTROLED CONDITIONS

The objective of this test was to determine the efficiency of two molluscicides to control slugs under controlled conditions. This study was conducted during 2004 in The Balcarce Integrated Unit (University of Agronomy – National Research Agency), Balcarce, Argentina. As a result, it was determined that the Molluscicide ACAY showed the highest control efficiency across different rates.

CONTROL OF SLUGS IN SUNFLOWER UNDER CONTROLED CONDITIONS

A study was conducted under controlled conditions to evaluate the control of some slug baits in sunflower. The trial was conducted in The Balcarce Integrated Unit (University of Agronomy – National Research Agency), Balcarce, Argentina. Three rates of Molluscicide ACAY and others two baits were tested. The ACAY bait was the one which provided a more efficient control at all rates.

CONTROL EFFICIENCY OR ARMADILLIDIUM WITH MATABIBOS ACAY

A trial was carried out under controlled conditions to evaluate the control efficiency of MataBiBos ACAY on woodlice (Armadillidium vulgare). The trial was conducted by professionals of The Balcarce Integrated Unit (University of Agronomy – National Research Agency), Balcarce, Argentina. Application of 4 kg/ha MataBiBos ACAY and a control without bait application were used as treatments. Using ACAY bait the number of individuals at 7 and 14 days after application decreased 93%.

CONTROL OF SLUGS IN SOYBEAN

A trial was conducted during 2005 to evaluate the control efficiency of Molluscicide ACAY and other three baits over slugs in soybean. Two rates of each product and a control treatment without bait application were used. Evaluations 7 days after treatment showed that the application of 5 kg/ha of Molluscicide ACAY produced the best results.

EFFICIENCY OF DOUBLE ACAY TO CONTROL SLUG, SNAILS AND WOODLICE IN COMPARISSON WITH PHYSICAL MIXTURE OF PRODUCTS

A test was conducted on a soybean crop under no-till management in the "Los Lobos" farm, General Pueyrredón district in order to test the efficiency of Double Acay for controlling slugs, snails and woodlice (Armadillidium vulgare) in comparison with a physical mixture of Molluscicide (Metaldehyde 4%) and MataBiBos ACAY (Carbaryl 8%). Results of the trial showed that both Double Acay and the physical mixture of products controlled pests with the same effectiveness. This results indicates that Double Acay is an important option in situations where is required the treatment at the same time of snails, slugs and woodlice and also a more economic alternative.

EFFECT OF THE RATE OF MATABIBOS ACAY OVER THE Armadillidium Vulgare CONTROL

The aim of this study was to evaluate the optimal rate for MataBiBos ACAY (Carbaryl 8%) application that maximizes pest control and economic efficiency. Four rates of MataBiBos ACAY were used in a field area with an initial population of 300 woodlice (Armadillidium vulgare) per m2. The results indicate that with the application of 4 kg/ha of MataBiBos ACAY control efficiencies are close to 80%.
